Closing
the circle
Looking at a bottle of Poggio al Garda Lugana, the eye is immediately captured by the label.
The essentialist shape of the circle spontaneously conjures up a mental image of the Casarini family’s “return to the world of wine”, of their desire to close the circle that their ancestors began to trace in the Oltrepò Pavese in the early 1900s.
And touching the label itself confirms that visual pleasure. Made of smooth-fibred cotton, it is plastic-free, as are all the other packaging components; the bottle closure is of vegetal polymers, the capsules are re-cyclable, and the insulation material contains no adhesives.

Wine
Upon pouring the wine, one immediately admires its luminous, green-shot straw-yellow.
The bouquet releases a cornucopia of yellow-fleshed fruit, lime honey, and wet stone.

The finely-balanced palate re-presents all the aromas encountered on the nose, while the finish is pleasantly bitterish.
Lugana Poggio al Garda pairs beautifully with seafood antipasto, lakefish-sauced tagliolini, main courses of lighter meats and with medium-aged cheeses.
